Last week on the 20th of October 2011 the LOD2 project organised a Government Linked Data (GLD) workshop in the course of the OGD Camp 2011 in Warsaw, Poland together with the W3C GLD working group.
In total the workshop offered 11 presentations (3 keynote talks and 8 lightning talks) from 10 different countries and had about 45 participants. The presentations & participants from that many different countries shows that the topic of Linked Open Data / Government Linked Data (GLD) has now really reached the European and worldwide Open Data community. Beside and around the topic of GLD there were lots of additional discussions about the areas of interoperability and data- & metadata integration using open data.
There has been published an interesting paper by the ISA Framework (ISA – the Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations programme) in September 2011: TOWARDS OPEN GOVERNMENT METADATA – that fits very well in the mentioned disussions of the Warsaw OGD Camp!
As one output we would like to invite all interested persons to discuss the GLD topic with us on the LOD2 public mailing list in the future – please register & participate!!
As follows you can find some photos (CC-BY license: LOD2) as well as all links to the slides of the mentioned presentations for use and re-use!
